Face-to-face workshop
This workshop focuses on the skills and knowledge required to install termite management systems at the pre-construction and renovation / extension stage. It includes assessing methods of construction of different premises as well as applying techniques required to prevent termites gaining concealed access to a completed construction. Candidates select equipment, materials and methods suitable to the type of termite management system and construction. This course is aimed at people who install termite management systems for new construction, or who carry out building and pest inspections of properties.

Completion of this unit of competency provides credit towards CPP30119 Certificate III in Urban Pest Management. The unit was previously known as CPPPMT3042 – Install physical termite management systems.

The online preconstruction program delivers CPPUPM3042 theory through our student portal at your own pace, combined with practical workplace evidence of termite management system installations.
How the program works
- Enrol and access the student portal. Login details and learning modules are issued on enrolment confirmation.
- Complete theory modules at your own pace. Covering construction methods, compliance, soil and timber types, and installation methods.
- Workplace evidence. Provide evidence of termite management system installation performance requirements.
- Final assessment. Completed with your ProTrain assessor.

Completing this course gives you a Statement of Attainment — the training step. You then apply to your state or territory regulator for the actual licence. Requirements vary between states; Western Australia in particular has additional requirements, so contact ProTrain before enrolling if you plan to apply for a WA licence.
