Students are required to either be currently employed, commencing employment or have pre-arranged & documented work placement in the urban pest management sector. The student must be able to provide evidence of completing at least 10 urban pest inspection and management programs under supervision of a qualified pest management technician.
Prior to acceptance, each candidate must provide a copy of their Statement of Attainment for either PRMPM05A, PRMPM06A & PRMPM18A or CPPPMT3005, CPPPMT3006 & CPPPMT3018, or evidence of currently undertaking training in these units, as unit 6 is a prerequisite for unit 10. Students must be currently employed, commencing employment or hold a documented work placement in the timber pest management sector, and provide evidence of completing at least 10 timber pest programs under supervision of a qualified timber pest management technician.
It is highly recommended that candidates have spent a reasonable amount of time assisting a qualified fumigator and have a basic understanding of the fumigation process.

Enrolment
You can see a list of workshops with available places on the upcoming courses page. Workshop dates are also listed on each course page.
Please contact us if you would like to be placed on a waitlist.
ProTrain is required to verify the identity and USI details of all students.
Our student management system requires that all students have their own unique email address. Using a generic email address such as info@ or admin@ can result in student information being overwritten or lost. We are still able to note an alternative email address on a student's portfolio, which allows us to cc employers when we send information to students.
Delivery and study
Our head office is located in Maroochydore, Queensland. We regularly hold face-to-face workshops at Maroochydore, Acacia Ridge, Townsville and Auckland. We are also able to facilitate group programs at your workplace — contact us for a quote.
Course lengths vary depending on the course type and format. The non-timber pest and timber pest workshops are five days face-to-face plus a final practical assessment. The fumigation workshop is four days face-to-face plus a final practical assessment. Remote study course enrolments are valid from the date of enrolment.
ProTrain currently offers face-to-face workshops and remote learning programs. Workshop programs include a pre-course component (select modules completed prior to attending), a five-day face-to-face workshop Monday to Friday, and a final assessment after the workshop — which can also be conducted via Zoom using audio & video media to demonstrate performance requirements in a workplace situation.
When you first enrol in a course, you will be sent an email with a link to set up your login details.
We have compiled instructions on completing your assessments on a computer, phone or tablet, including how to complete your online logbook. These are available through the student portal or by contacting our team.

Completion and certification
You will have 12 months from course commencement to complete the qualification.
You will need to complete a Certificate Re-issue Request Form — contact ProTrain to obtain a copy.
Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) is all about the skills and knowledge you've collected through work and life experiences and then transferring them to current training course requirements. Assessors will review your existing skills and have your current skills recognised.
Licensing
After successful completion of all aspects of the training and assessment, you will be issued with a Statement of Attainment. You will then need to apply to the relevant state licensing authority for a pest management licence — see our resources page for the licensing body in your state.
